Databricks SQL Reporting & Dashboards

DatabricksATX AnalyticsTable connects to Databricks SQL warehouses and clusters on every cloud, so the lakehouse your data engineers build becomes something analysts can query, pin, chart and schedule from a familiar grid — without exporting extracts by hand.

What you can do

Address a workspace on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud by its host and HTTP path — the form shows which cloud it read — for a SQL warehouse (recommended) or a cluster
Start in a Unity Catalog catalog and schema, or leave the catalog blank to see every catalog you can access
Sign-in with OAuth machine-to-machine (a service principal — recommended on every cloud), Microsoft Entra ID on Azure (managed identity, service principal or Azure CLI), OAuth user sign-in, a personal access token or a supplied bearer token
Session options for query tags (cost tracking), time zone, ANSI mode and statement timeout
A stopped SQL warehouse is started by the first query, with a socket timeout long enough to wait for it; serverless warehouses start in seconds
An authenticating HTTP(S) proxy configured in the connection itself
Query builder, SQL editor, pinned queries, dashboards, PDF reports and scheduled refresh — the same as every other source

How to connect Databricks

Open the SQL warehouse's Connection details tab in Databricks and copy the server hostname and HTTP path.
In ATX AnalyticsTable open Settings → Connections, add a Databricks connection and paste them — or paste the JDBC URL and press Read.
Optionally set the Unity Catalog catalog and schema to start in.
Choose OAuth machine-to-machine, Entra ID (Azure) or OAuth user sign-in; secrets go into the vault.
Press Test Connection, then query, pin and schedule as with any other source.

Security and governance

Always encrypted, always verifying the server certificate
On Azure Databricks, Entra ID sign-in with on-behalf-of runs each query as the signed-in person, so Unity Catalog permissions apply per user
OAuth machine-to-machine and managed identity avoid personal access tokens, which most organisations forbid for services
Secrets are held in the encrypted vault and never written into the project file

Availability

Database and warehouse connectors are counted per workspace: three on Corporate PRO, five on Corporate Advanced and Advanced Plus, unlimited on Corporate Unlimited, and every connector on Free and Individual.
