Serve reports, agents, METRIC() and embedded dashboards only the version of each metric a steward certified, and roll a definition back to any earlier saved version in one click. Every save of a semantic object keeps a version in its history, identified by a definition hash. Certification is attached to one version. The publish gate decides which version the consumers get: without it, the current one; with it, the certified one. The gate covers every consumer: governed metric sources in sheets and dashboards, METRIC(), headless metrics (/api/v1/metrics), the MCP server, Ask Greg's governed metric tools, insight watches on a metric, and embedded dashboards. Datasets and joins used by a measure are gated too, so a certified measure is never planned over an uncertified join.
