Merging cells and grouping rows or columns

Merging cells and grouping rows or columnsMerge, merge across, merge down, unmerge; outline groups and collapse behaviour. Merges the selected cells into one region: AUTO spans the whole selection, HORIZONTAL produces one region per row, VERTICAL one per column. The anchor (top-left) cell keeps its content and formatting; the other cells are blanked, so unmerging leaves them empty — that is the documented contract, not data loss to be surprised by. Unmerge removes any merge overlapping the selection.
