Two features outside the chat panel also put a question to a model and write the answer into cells: the AI_PROMPT grid function and the AI analysis step of a pipeline. Neither is the agent. Each makes a single model call with no tools: it cannot run SQL, read anything it was not handed, propose objects, or write anywhere but its own destination. Both use the providers, data policy, masking and audit described in this section. Their syntax and every option are documented with the function and the step:
