Credentials (scoped service tokens, Entra ID, the installation token), the role each operation needs, every endpoint of /api/v1, and worked curl and Python examples. Base path: /api/v1 on the backend — the same host and port as the application, behind your reverse proxy on a server installation. The API adds no new listener and no new port. Give every integration its own SCOPED SERVICE TOKEN. An administrator lists tokens in the file named by ANALYTICS_API_TOKENS_FILE, each with a name and a role (viewer, analyst or admin). The file holds only SHA-256 digests, and revoking a token is an edit of the file, with no restart. Send the token as "Authorization: Bearer <token>". Where the installation signs people in with Microsoft Entra ID, an Entra access token works too, and the call runs as that person.
