INVISIBLE CHARACTERS: non-breaking and exotic spaces, zero-width characters and BOMs, invisible formatting and preheader padding (combining grapheme joiner, word joiners, variation selectors, Hangul fillers), control codes, directionality marks, soft hyphens, tabs and newlines inside cells. TYPOGRAPHY: smart quotes, en/em dashes, and the replacement character a failed encoding leaves behind. WHITESPACE: repeated spaces and leading/trailing padding.
